How much does it cost to build a SaaS in Switzerland?
A SaaS v1 built properly in Switzerland costs between CHF 20’000 and 45’000 fixed fee; CHF 20’000 is also the minimum for any engagement, internal tools and portals included; beyond CHF 45’000, the product is split into successive versions. This calculator places your project in those bands from thirteen questions about what it must do — and produces a brief you can send me.
This is not a quote. A price is set after a scope call, on a written scope. What the tool does is what I do in the first twenty minutes of scoping: qualify the complexity, name the engineering components, identify what moves the budget.

Method
How this calculator reasons
Every answer adds points according to what it implies in engineering — not in screens. A third user role weighs more than a dashboard because it touches every query; usage-based billing weighs more than a subscription because it requires meters, quotas and edge cases; dense business logic weighs the most because it requires a tested, versioned rules engine.
The sum falls into a band. The bands come from my own fixed fees: no engagement goes below CHF 20’000; a SaaS v1 sits between CHF 20’000 and 45’000, as detailed in How much does it cost to build a SaaS v1 in Switzerland; beyond that, the product is split. The duration follows the band: 3 to 6 weeks of sprint with a demo every Friday.
What the tool does not know: the expected level of finish, the state of an existing prototype, the quality of your examples for an AI feature, and what you can leave for the second customer. That is exactly what the scope call settles — and why the result is a band, not a price.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to build a SaaS in Switzerland?
Between CHF 20’000 and 45’000 fixed fee for a v1 built properly by a senior independent developer. An internal tool or a portal starts at the same minimum, CHF 20’000. An agency usually charges two to three times more for the same scope, coordination included.
How long does it take to build a SaaS v1?
From 3 to 6 weeks of sprint depending on the complexity band, after a week of scoping. Beyond the “Full V1” band, the product is delivered in successive versions.
Why a range and not a price?
Because two products with the same answers can differ in level of finish, in the state of what exists and in what you accept to postpone. The price is set after a twenty-minute scope call, on a written scope — and it does not move afterwards.
What happens if I send the brief?
It lands in the contact form, pre-filled. You complete it, you submit, and I reply within 24h with a first reading and a proposed scope call. No data is transmitted before you submit the form.
