01

Who this is for

Owner representatives, yacht management companies, family offices and refit project managers coordinating shipyards and contractors.

The original quotation rarely tells the whole refit story. As work changes, approvals and evidence move between contractors, the management team and the owner. An invoice arrives before anyone can reconstruct the authorized scope.

Give the owner representative a clear view of committed costs, pending decisions and invoices that need an explanation.

One possible workflow

Refit Workflow Exposure Check

Seven questions about how decisions and documents move through your refit. Receive practical recommendations immediately.

Answers stay in this page. No account, email or asset identifiers are required.

01Are change requests recorded in one register with the original and revised scope?
02Is each approval linked to a named person with documented authority?
03Are invoice items matched to authorized scope before payment review?
04Is work-completion evidence linked to the relevant scope and invoice?
05Is there a documented route for escalating unexpected costs?
06Can the owner distinguish approved commitments from pending proposals?
07Can you export the decision history with dates and supporting references?

A qualitative self-assessment, not a risk score, compliance opinion or estimate of financial savings.

03

What we can design and build

We can build a control layer around the owner representative’s decisions. Each change keeps its original quotation, revision, named approval and evidence references. Proposed amounts remain separate from committed spend; work completion and payment remain distinct states.

  • Versioned quotation register
  • Change orders and spending authority
  • Evidence references and invoice matching
  • Owner-facing progress reports
  • Exportable decisions and budget variances
04

Keep what works. Connect what is missing.

Start with agreed spreadsheet and document imports. Connect accounting, document storage or yacht management tools where exports or authorized APIs support it. Confirm identifiers, access and reconciliation rules before automating.

Responsibilities and limits

Your team and appointed marine professionals validate work, technical suitability and completion. This is administrative software, not marine navigation, surveying or a guarantee that every cost discrepancy will be detected.

05

A scoped delivery

  • A map of quotation, approval and billing responsibilities
  • An agreed data model and permission matrix
  • A tested control workflow and owner report
  • Import/export instructions and operating documentation
06

Engineering you can inspect.

These are Bynilson’s own products and engineering work, not yacht, aviation or fleet client references. They demonstrate transferable methods; sector fit must be validated with your team.

07

A written starting point. A defined commitment.

  1. 01

Describe the operational problem. No sales call is required.

  2. 02

Receive an initial written assessment of fit and open questions.

  3. 03

Commission the existing architecture diagnostic if it can resolve those questions.

  4. 04

Agree on scope, acceptance criteria, responsibilities and a fixed proposal.

  5. 05

Build, validate with your team and deploy.

  6. 06

Transfer source code, documentation and accounts under the agreed contract.

08

The same Bynilson engagements. A sector-specific scope.

Premium Systems applies Bynilson’s existing product rebuild, workflow automation and acquisition infrastructure engagements to these industries. It is not a catalogue of ready-made software products.

01

Architecture & workflow diagnostic

CHF 2’400. Delivered in 7 working days after required access and kickoff answers are received. Fully credited against an eligible build of at least CHF 20’000 signed within 60 days of delivery.

02

Bespoke operational software

From CHF 20’000. The fixed proposal defines the implementation, integrations and acceptance criteria.

03

Complex systems

Multiple workflows, integrations or migrations: a fixed proposal after scoping, with phases where appropriate.

04

Ongoing software operations

Maintenance, monitoring, security updates and controlled improvements can be agreed after delivery. Coverage and response times are contractual.

Before you share a brief

Will this replace our shipyard ERP?

The intended starting point is an owner-representative control layer. The shipyard can keep its operational system; the connection depends on supported data access.

Can an owner approve by threshold?

We can define approval limits, escalation rules and delegated authority with your team. The actual policy must be agreed and human decisions remain recorded.

Is Refit Control already a deployed client product?

No. The demonstration below uses fictional data to explain an engineering approach. A real implementation requires discovery, a contract and validation against your operations.

Describe what your team is still managing manually.

A workflow, the people involved and the decision that keeps getting delayed. That is enough to begin.
